Jihane

Guardian.

This morning I woke up bright and early, around 6 am. I took the dogs out for a bathroom run. I ditched the phone, got up and performed my skin care routine. I then covered my hair and took a shower. I poured myself a tall glass of water, chugged half of it, put on YouTube, and rolled myself a joint while shuffling through Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, FKA twigs, Snoh Alegra, Ari Lennox, Sunny Colon, Alfa Mist, and SZA’s tracks. “Killer” ignited my soul to climactic levels. I moved all the coffee table out of the way when it started playing and did floor work for a change. I pushed myself a bit further today. I’ve been feeling really stiff lately. I’ve been feeling discomfort and pain in the neck / shoulder area, lower back and knees. I haven’t danced as much as I have immersed myself in sounds. Despite the enduring soreness I let myself go today. I had just smoked. I was ready to let loose. It felt primal. It felt good I had the song on replay and just stayed with it, flowing with it, exploring my body through intuitive movements. It’s such a powerful release. I look forward to editing a reel from that session and study my use of space. I really enjoy turning on music and just shaking it off. I encourage everybody to do that more often. It’s an offering to the soul!

Maya is so darn cute! Whenever I roll on the ground and throw myself around dancing she freaks out… She thinks I’m in distress and need rescuing so she runs to me and intervene to put an end to the bizarre contorsions I call dance moves.

My ace. Maya is my protector - my guardian.
